Death in the Mountains is a must for anyone who loves Italy and wants to learn more. I particularly loved this book because Lisa Clifford writes so beautifully and takes us back in time to a Tuscany that is a million miles from the one we know it as today. A time of poverty and difficulty when life for her husband's family was just plain unfair. I loved this book, I read it on the plane, the taxi and whenever I had a chance so I could find out who killed Artemio. Absolutely gorgeous.
