Holiday Gifts: " Frimousses de Createurs " for Unicef

Collector's Dolls to benefit a good cause.

For the 8th consecutive year, an A-list of personalities, from fashion designers, prestigious jewelers to contemporary artists and movie celebrities have put their imagination and talent to create Frimousses de Createurs. Currently on view at the Petit Palais in Paris from November 30 to December 5, these unique dolls will then be auctioned off at Drouot Montaigne on Dec. 7. All proceeds will go to to support Unicef's initiative to help children in Darfur.
This year, 90 prominent personalities team up with Unicef to designed an exquisite doll, each of them inspired by a theme....

The Pink Wishbone Project, a Charity Event

Chairs become Art, to benefit Breast Cancer Research. Thanks to Suite New York, a Manhattan furniture showroom, Hans Wegner’s famous Wishbone Chair, made in Denmark by Carl Hansen and Son, will be available in pink for the next year, with 20 percent of its sales going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation
The project will kick-off with a cocktail party this evening October 7th at Barneys NY that BCRF founder Evelyn Lauder is set to attend. The twenty chairs will be on display and will later be auctioned with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit BCRF. Twenty of the world's leading women interior designers have each created one-of-a-kind cushions for the chair.
Kelly Behun, Sheila Bridges, Alexandra Champalimaud, Neisha Crosland, Lulu de Kwiatkowski, Tori Golub, Alexa Hampton, Allegra Hicks, Julie Hillman, Annie Kelly, Celerie Kemble, Kit Kemp, Laura Kirar, Amy Lau, Katie Lydon, Emma Jane Pilkington, Sara Rotman, Ruthie Sommers, Kelly Wearstler, and Bunny Williams have donated extraordinary cushions that are for the most part, elegant and charming.

22 Ways to Say Black Dresses

A Little Black Dress Auction Event

Swarovski Elements has commissioned 22 of fashion's most notable known names and talented newcomers to design one-of-a-kind little black dresses for the event. Names like Diane Von Furstenberg, Fendi, Jean Paul Gaultier are among the chosen designers. On September 20, at the gallery Phillips de Pury and Company in New York City, under the hight-patronage of Carla Bruni-Sarkozi, the one-of-a-kind dresses will be auctioned off by Simon de Pury, with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit the American Cancer Society and La Ligue nationale contre le cancer in France.
Throughout New York Fashion Week, beginning September 7 until September 20, visitors to the NY Meatpacking District outpost of Phillips de Pury, can admire these fabulous dresses which will be on display prior to the auction.
