I am a huge fan of Musee de L'Orangerie in Paris. Standing in front of Monet's twenty foot 'Water Lily' masterpieces is to stand in a tranquil garden faraway from the bustle of the city outside and the Paul Guillame collection downstairs is a feast of inspiration.
I took these pics today in Monet's garden in Giverney where the famous Water Lily paintings were painted. I tried to capture a little of his wonderful masterful strokes and dream like state. I took the bottom photo first but to me it lacked his impressionist magic then I decided to slow down the speed and move my camera in a motion blur as the shutter opened. I took the second picture in this way and I felt it was truer to his wonderful canvases. Which pic do you prefer? Carla x
